You will need to have your feet set together, hit a full swing on the ball, and make sure that as you are about to hit the ball, you are able to shift your weight and strength appropriately. To be precise, this shot requires only about half of your strength.
Give no quarter
For this drill, the concept is to help you learn how to be more conscious of the balance of your drive and your swing. Take a quarter and set it on your leading foot before you swing. It should stay there when the swing is done, or you still have a lot of work to do.
The hip turn
This drill is all about alignment. Having struck the ball, make sure that your hip still remains in the correct alignment, and you will be good to go. Anything other than that means that you still have a long way to go.
